GPS-OVWC System – Department of Highways (DOH), Thailand

1. Personal Data We Collect

• Account Information: Full name, Citizen ID / Passport ID, Agency/Affiliation, Email address, Phone number, Username, and Password (Hashed).
• Location Data (GPS): Latitude-longitude coordinates, speed, and heading (real-time, both foreground and background) for vehicle tracking, overweight truck monitoring, and logging officer field operations.
• Camera & Media: Camera and Photo Library permissions to capture and upload vehicle photos, weighbridge receipts, and inspection documents.
• Technical & Usage Data: Device ID, IP Address, system access logs, and security tokens for session management.

2. Purposes & Legal Bases for Processing

• Truck Weight Regulation & Highway Inspection: Pursuant to the Highway Act B.E. 2535 (1992) (Legal Obligation / Public Task).
• User Authentication & Access Management: To manage user roles for officers and operators (Public Task / Performance of Contract).
• Map Display & Push Notifications: Real-time location tracking and status alerts (Consent granted via device permissions).
• System Security & Audit Logging: Preventing fraud and securing IT infrastructure (Legitimate Interest / Public Task).

3. Data Sharing & Third Parties

• Government Agencies: Data integration with the Department of Land Transport (DLT), Highway Police, and Ministry of Transport for law enforcement and fleet compliance.
• Third-Party Services: Google Maps API (map visualization) and OSRM (route processing).

4. Security & Retention

• Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS and WSS (WebSocket Secure). Security tokens are stored in encrypted device storage.
• Data is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill official regulatory duties and in accordance with Thai official document management regulations.

5. Data Subject Rights (PDPA)

You have the right to withdraw consent (e.g., revoking GPS or Camera access in device settings), access, request copies, correct, or request deletion of your personal data (unless retention is mandated by law).

6. Terms of Use

• Users guarantee that all uploaded information and photos are accurate, authentic, and do not infringe on third-party rights.
• Prohibited: Uploading false data, malware, or malicious files to the system.
• The Department of Highways reserves the right to suspend accounts or take legal action upon violation.
• All trademarks, logos, and system content belong to the Department of Highways and may not be used for commercial purposes.
